In an October 10 StarTribune article surveying the challenging business prospects for Twin Cities restaurants, Dennis Monroe comments on the Minneapolis Downtown Restaurant Group, a group he organized to improve the environment for restaurant businesses downtown.
“We’re pulling together as a group, but we’re also going to the city and state and asking what they can do for us,” Dennis said. The group adopted a three-pronged approach, involving legislative/governmental action, a marketing effort to promote the virtues of downtown, and pooling of resources to help individual business owners with their specific needs.
