In a June 17 article “Making the Case for Open Design,” Franchise and Commerce looks at the Monroe Moxness Berg office design as a departure from the traditional design elements associated with law firms.
In place of dark wood paneling, heavy wood furniture and thick carpeting, the firm opted for “glass-walled offices that admit abundant natural light, light colors, modern steel-framed furniture, synthetic stone flooring and an overall high-tech feel.”
The open design reflects the firm’s emphasis on innovation, its increasing reliance on technology, and an egalitarian culture that values collaboration and community.
