Monroe Moxness Berg Represents SSCP Management in Acquisition of Roy’s Restaurant

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 28, 2015 — Monroe Moxness Berg represented SSCP Management, a company headed by Applebee’s franchisee Sunil Dharod, in an acquisition of Roy’s Restaurant chain. The addition of the restaurants to Dharod’s portfolio was officially announced on January 27. The seller, Bloomin’ Brands, also owns Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming’s.

Dharod, who has been involved in the restaurant industry for more than thirty years with multiple concepts, is the owner of the Apple Texas Group which owns and operates 69 Applebee’s restaurants located throughout Texas.

Roy’s brand was founded by Roy Yamaguchi in 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and it has since grown to 29 restaurants around the world – 20 in the continental United States, six in Hawaii, one in Japan and one in Guam.
