John Remakel will be a speaker at BDO’s Restaurant CFO Bootcamp, discussing “Strategic Transactions in the Restaurant Industry – Recent Trends and Structures.” The conference takes place in Orlando on October 18-20.
John’s session will provide an overview of recent trends and activity in strategic transactions affecting the restaurant industry – including common structures for M&A consolidation and takeovers, emergence of large multi-concept franchise operators, refranchising and development programs, franchisor buy-backs and facilitation of legacy operator exists, and new financing alternatives through Regulation A+ (Mini-IPO) and JOBS Act crowdfunding. The session will also focus on how some restaurant companies are managing distressed situations as consumer habits and preferences change – such as restructurings, store closures, loans and financial assistance programs.
